A leading manufacturer of internal gear pumps
A/S SE SMITHSKE, founded in 1834, became known worldwide for its DESM-brand products. ROTAN pumps, manufactured by DESMI ROTAN, are distributed across the globe through its subsidiaries, agents and distributors.
In 1915 a Danish-American immigrant invented the working principle of the internal gear pump. In 1921 a Danish company was licensed to manufacture this type of gear pump and promoted it worldwide under the ROTAN brand. The standardized structural design of the ROTAN pump has become today's widely recognized state-of-the-art internal gear pump design.
The ROTAN internal gear pump provides favorable flow conditions, since a change of flow direction requires only a minor adjustment to the pump. This delivers exceptional self-priming capability and smooth, steady transfer, while also handling high-viscosity media.
1. Advantages of the ROTAN pump:
- Media flow direction and pump inlet/outlet orientation can be freely defined, making installation convenient.
- The pump uses casing-foot support. Because the weight of the pump head is concentrated mainly on the casing, casing-foot support distributes loads more evenly across the pump and piping, giving a longer service life.
- Back-pull-out design: with an auxiliary extended coupling, the pump can be removed at will without dismantling the inlet/outlet piping or the motor and gearbox, making maintenance easy.
- Standardized design with highly interchangeable parts, reducing spare-parts inventory.
