Overview of the Dosing System
According to the requirements of the process flow, metering pumps, solution tanks, agitators, level gauges, safety valves, back-pressure valves, pressure gauges, filters, pulsation dampers, piping and valves are assembled on a common base frame to form a dosing system capable of storing and dosing chemical solutions. The dosing system can be operated manually or controlled automatically; automatic control is achieved by various sensors, controllers, transmitters, stroke-positioning motors, frequency converters, PLCs and other electrical and instrumentation devices. Depending on the corrosive characteristics of the medium, a variety of corrosion-resistant materials are available, such as carbon steel (rubber-lined carbon steel), stainless steel and non-metallic materials (PE, PVC, PP). The dosing system features a compact structure, small size, simple installation and easy operation, and can be made fixed or mobile according to customer requirements.
Main Components of the Dosing System
- Metering pump: the metering pump is the device that doses the chemical solution in precise quantities within the dosing system. Flow rate ranges from 1 L/h to 10000 L/h and pressure from 0.3 MPa to 30 MPa. The metering accuracy can reach ±1%.
- Solution tank: used to store the solution.
- Agitator: mixes the solution uniformly, preventing stratification and sedimentation.
- Safety valve: prevents overpressure from damaging the system and equipment.
- Back-pressure valve: improves the metering accuracy of the pump under low system pressure.
- Filter: filters the medium at the metering pump inlet to prevent impurities from clogging the pump.
- Pulsation damper: smooths the pulsation at the pump inlet and outlet, improves the pump's suction performance, increases metering accuracy and reduces vibration of the system and piping.
